My Favourite Website: ESPNSTAR.COM

ESPNSTAR is a subsidiary website from ESPN Inc. It is a similar website as the latter just that it emphasize more on sports around Asia. To explain further it is categorized as a commercial website that provides information on sports.

This is my favourite website because it keeps me informed with all the sports content that i need. Eventhough there are plenty of sports websites around, it is my preferred choice because it offers me more in terms of interactive options such as live score and live cast. Besides that, the website usually brings more in depth details in terms of the big sports events that is going around according to the sport's season such as Fomula 1, World Cup Cricket, English Premiere League and so much more. I find it informative as well because the people who works for ESPN knows how to cater to its target audience by providing them all the knowledge they need about current events that relates to the sport that we look for.

ESPNSTAR has a link with ASTRO sports channel too such as STAR SPORTS and ESPN. This is good as we can find information about the website through this channel. The websites also offer sports fans nice prizes through its contest as well which relates to the sport of choice.

The URL link for it is www.espnstar.com

Black Eyed Peas (Dirty Bit)

This music video is one of the latest that infused digital and sound wave effect in it. We can see how they made it very futuristic by the elements of sound waves and the beats of the sound synchronizing with the visual effects on the faces of the performers and parts of the scenes too. for example the synchronized beat on the futuristic boxed faced on Will.I.AM. There is also an element of auto tune which roughly mean the digital sound that creates a perfect pitch as the singers sings out their song. This has been for quite some time now where it was made popular by artiste such as Timberland and T-Pain. They even made a special auto tune application for apple for the latter. In a way, talent and the ability to sing perfectly is no longer needed in the music industry as many singers good and bad uses this technology. It is all introduced generally because everything in the world is playing catch up in this technological era.

Relay For Life 2011

Relay For Life 2011 is an event that lasted the whole night in conjunction of celebration toward cancer survivors. Besides that it was also for those who has lost their loved ones through cancer. Everyone from difference races and background took part in the event as it was a way for them to show their full support for the cause. The whole thing was inspired from Dr Gordan Klatt Washington, who jogged for 24 hours to raise funds for his patients. Through this, it became an annual thing where everyone who supported the idea and wants to play a role in giving hope to patients around the world.

It all at 6 and as it started the event organizer gave a speech of introduction for the Relay where the organizer mentioned encouragement and inspiration for people to "Celebrate, Remember, and Fight Back", for the cause of fighting cancer. The first lap began with cancer patients and survivors where we can see the joy and happiness as they had endured the hardship and struggle of cancer. i can really only imagine how difficult it must have been for them. Next, everyone else who participating in the event takes their place in the relay and surprising enough there were also participants from other countries such America and Phillipines.

It continued on until nightfall as their spirit continued on in celebration of fighting cancer. At 8.30pm, The Luminaria took place. This is basically a part where everyone lit up a lantern to honor those who has passed on through their fight with cancer. In the end, everyone went back with a feeling of satisfaction knowing that the fight does not end there. There is always next year to look forward to again and till that time comes back again, We will all pray that everyone that is going through this will come out healthy and live happily.

Honestly i might be a little bit biased with this news as i am a true Liverpool FC supporter. The date was 16th July 2011 and it is a friendly match between Malaysia XI versus Liverpool FC for the Standard Chartered Liverpool FC Asian Tour. It was my first time watching the Reds live and it was quite an experience. From all the football matches i have been to, I have never encountered over 80,000 fans supporting Liverpool FC and our beloved country Malaysia in the National Stadium, Bukit Jalil. I was fortunate enough to see an exciting game which includes goals and good football.

I reached there about 2 hours before the game and it was already packed and the heat did not help either. anyways i quickly rushed into the stadium and quickly go to my seats before everything started. as i entered the stadium, i heard the loyal supporters of Liverpool FC singing You'll Never Walk Alone and it almost brought tears in my eyes as i somehow felt i was in Anfield watching my favorite football team play live for the first time. The atmosphere was brilliant and looking around the stands everyone was happy to be there. There were waves where everyone lifting up their hands in motions and the sounds of claps and cheers as both respecting teams came out for their quick warm ups before the match.

To cover a brief commentary on the match, i will add something i got from ESPNSTAR news:

Charlie Adam scored from the spot on his first start for the club as Kenny Dalglish's side won another high-scoring friendly victory, having beaten Guangdong 4-3 in China three days ago.

Adam, a £6.75million signing from Blackpool, was named in midfield alongside Jay Spearing, Raul Meireles and Conor Coady, with Andy Carroll in front of Joe Cole in attack.

Adam was a lively presence in the opening exchanges and after 25 minutes played in Carroll, who went down in the area and earned the penalty.

Adam had to take the spot-kick twice but sent the keeper the wrong way to make it 1-0.

Mohammad Safiq Rahim equalised with a fine free-kick five minutes from half-time.

Clarke made 11 substitutions at the break and after 68 minutes David Ngog scored following some poor defending.

The Frenchman added a second moments later as the Reds swamped their opponents.

Maxi Rodriguez made it 4-1 in the 76th minute before Mohammad Safi scored twice in as many minutes to put the hosts back in contention.

Maxi then scored a second of his own in the last minute as the All-Stars chased the equaliser, with Dirk Kuyt making it six deep in injury time.

This was basically what happened throughout the match and as the goals came in from both sides, we all cheered as both teams played a part in our lives. All in all, it was an experience and one to be remembered. I will end this with Malaysia Boleh! as our national team have shown the right attitude and progress for the sport and You'll Never Walk Alone as Liverpool FC have given me smiles and that chance to see them live in my own country.

About Myself

Hello everyone. I hope all is well and everyone is going through a good week. To tell you the truth, i dont really know where to start. My name is Hazwan Haili, i was born on Febuary the 13th and i am 25 this year. i realized that im older than most of my classmates though i dont find it awkward as i know ive been through a lot and gained just as much to get to where i am today. Initially, my dream was to be a professional actor as it was one of my big dreams to be able to perform in front of an audience and tell them stories through acting. I even graduated from ASWARA which is a well known performing arts university in Malaysia. Well that was my past, it was one of those dreams that i have to leave behind because in this tough and competitive world, we are only as good as what we can offer.
So i closed one door and opened a new one. the world of Mass Communications. Studying Theater helped me tremendously in dealing with people and it also gave me the encouragement to step up and speak in front of an audience, not to mention to voice out my opinions whether its positive or the other way around. I entered SEGi with a goal that one day i can make myself as someone who is important and useful to society. That is where media and communication comes in. These are tools that will help shape our society for better or for worse so it is essential for us to use it responsibly. Everything we do daily revolves around these two important elements. We use media as a server to provide us with information to help us evolve and grow in knowledge and also as an individual. We use communication everyday to get by and live in a society in order to get what we want and to ensure our messages gets across to those we communicate with.
I find that the media and communication tools are getting more and more sophisticated every single day. One year is a long time in the technological age as there will be new ideas and innovation that perhaps will dictate our lives to greater heights. A few good examples would be the introduction of smart phones and tablet devices. a couple of years ago it was just merely meant for business professionals to get through their work. Today it has been mass produced and its catering for all parts of our society where they instill them in their everyday lives. Even the world of social media has been keeping up to date with the trend where Facebook became revolutionary to the extend that everyone uses it. Before that, it was Friendster and Myspace though its market primarily is used by teenagers and young adult. I just find it amazing that without noticing it, we are integrating our lives with machines and technology and i do believe that it is now hard to live without it.
Who knows what will happened in a couple of years, Perhaps the technology video conferencing would evolved and play a huge part in the social media era. We live in a world of Pop Culture and in order for us to succeed and stand out, we do need to think critically and strive creatively to be there.
