About Myself

Hello everyone. I hope all is well and everyone is going through a good week. To tell you the truth, i dont really know where to start. My name is Hazwan Haili, i was born on Febuary the 13th and i am 25 this year. i realized that im older than most of my classmates though i dont find it awkward as i know ive been through a lot and gained just as much to get to where i am today. Initially, my dream was to be a professional actor as it was one of my big dreams to be able to perform in front of an audience and tell them stories through acting. I even graduated from ASWARA which is a well known performing arts university in Malaysia. Well that was my past, it was one of those dreams that i have to leave behind because in this tough and competitive world, we are only as good as what we can offer.
So i closed one door and opened a new one. the world of Mass Communications. Studying Theater helped me tremendously in dealing with people and it also gave me the encouragement to step up and speak in front of an audience, not to mention to voice out my opinions whether its positive or the other way around. I entered SEGi with a goal that one day i can make myself as someone who is important and useful to society. That is where media and communication comes in. These are tools that will help shape our society for better or for worse so it is essential for us to use it responsibly. Everything we do daily revolves around these two important elements. We use media as a server to provide us with information to help us evolve and grow in knowledge and also as an individual. We use communication everyday to get by and live in a society in order to get what we want and to ensure our messages gets across to those we communicate with.
I find that the media and communication tools are getting more and more sophisticated every single day. One year is a long time in the technological age as there will be new ideas and innovation that perhaps will dictate our lives to greater heights. A few good examples would be the introduction of smart phones and tablet devices. a couple of years ago it was just merely meant for business professionals to get through their work. Today it has been mass produced and its catering for all parts of our society where they instill them in their everyday lives. Even the world of social media has been keeping up to date with the trend where Facebook became revolutionary to the extend that everyone uses it. Before that, it was Friendster and Myspace though its market primarily is used by teenagers and young adult. I just find it amazing that without noticing it, we are integrating our lives with machines and technology and i do believe that it is now hard to live without it.
Who knows what will happened in a couple of years, Perhaps the technology video conferencing would evolved and play a huge part in the social media era. We live in a world of Pop Culture and in order for us to succeed and stand out, we do need to think critically and strive creatively to be there.
